Sunset Beach
Sunset Beach is to the north of Cape Town on the way to Blaauwberg. The long, sandy, white beach is well known among windsurfers and kite surfers and for its magnificent view of Table Mountain and Robben Island.
Killarney Gardens
Killarney Gardens, only a 5 minutes drive from Alpha du Cap Guest Hosue is home to the Killarney Race Track. Killarney Race Track was first raced on in 1947. On 1st January 1960 the Cape Grand Prix was held at Killarney. Today, this is a lively race track with many events through out the year.
Edgemead
Edgemead, at the foot of the Tygerberg Hills, boarders to Pinelands and is 15 km from Cape Town City centre, Blaauwberg and from the Cape Town International airport and the V&A Waterfront.
Bothasig
Bothasig is an affordable residential area situated just off the N1 freeway some 15 km north-east of Cape Town's city centre and south-west of Blaauwberg. It is known for its pretty Christmas lights.
Paarden Eiland
Paarden Island means ‘island of horses’. Paarden Island is on the way from Blaauwberg to Cape Town’s city centre, close to the beautiful harbour and boasts a flea market every Saturday and Sunday.
Atlantis
Just 20 minutes from Blaauwberg are the Atlantis Dunes, 27 square kilometers of pure white sand dunes, reaching sometimes as high as a six storey building. Famously the site of many film and advertising shoots, it is offers excellent facilities for quad biking, allowing for a fabulous quad ride in breathtaking surroundings. |
