Milnerton Lagoon
Milnerton has a spectacularly scenic lagoon. There are a number of stunning viewing points. The lagoon is popular amongst canoeists, with Milnerton's canoe club situated next to the wooden bridge. There is a variety of birds on the lagoon.
Milnerton Beach
Milnerton's beach is well known for its spectacular post-card views of Table Mountain. When the wind's not blowing the beach is great for walks and taking in the scenery. Wave size varies from small to large and tend to barrel, best waves are usually found when there is a south-easter blowing.
Milnerton Lighthouse
Before going onto the beach, have a look at the lighthouse. The Milnerton Lighthouse is a 21 metre high cylindrical tower painted white. It has a revolving electric optic producing 800 000 candela. It was completed on the 10th March 1960.
Wood Bridge Island
As you cross over the lagoon in your motor vehicle to go to Milnerton's beach on Wood Bridge Island, on your right hand side you will see the old wooden bridge. The bridge was declared a national monument in 1987. The bridge was built in 1899 (during the Anglo-Boer war) by the Royal Engineers to give military access across the lagoon to the "island", and via this up the coast.
Milnerton Golf Course
Milnerton Golf Club Course is an 18-hole, par 72 seaside course situated just 10 minutes north of the city of Cape Town. Surrounded by natural beauty, the course is a pleasure to the senses and a challenge to even the most experienced golfer - especially when the prevailing South Easter, affectionately known as the "Cape Doctor" - makes her house calls in the summer months!
