Activities & Adventures - Tandem Skydiving in Cape Town
Only a few kilometres from Blaauwberg (a 25 minutes drive), along the West Coast road is the drop zone for one of the most adventurous activities you can enjoy while staying at Alpha du Cap Guest House. To do a tandem skydive in Cape Town is one of the “must do” things while on holiday or just visiting.
On the way up in the aircraft, the view is breathtaking. To the South, Cape Town and Table Mountain, to the West, you will spot Robben Island and the Atlantic breaking on the beautiful Cape West Coast and Dolphin Beach , a great kitesurfing and windsurfing spot. At an altitude of 9000ft above the ground, just before exit, you get hooked up to your tandem instructor and free fall to 4000ft above the ground. After the parachute opens you will glide softly to the ground and land on the soft sand of the drop zone.
If you are more serious about sky diving, you can take lessons from the qualified instructors. A total of 25 freefall jumps are required before obtaining an Internationally recognised A-licence. We suggest allowing a two week period to have the best chance of completing the course, and required post course jumps.
