Alpha du Cap Guest House is surrounded by a large variety of golf courses offering visitors a selection of excellent courses in majestic settings and rated as some of the best in South Africa. Caddies are available at most courses. Exceptions are on cart only estates and at certain golf and housing estates. Golf carts are limited on many of the courses and bookings are advised.

At the centre of a patchwork of wheat and barley fields, the heritage of the Caledon community is reflected in the Caledon Museum, a Victorian house filled with artefacts donated by members of the community.

The South African Museum, the oldest museum in sub-Saharan Africa, was established in 1825. It includes the modern and spectacular Whale Well, the only example of a quagga foal, the famous Lydenburg Heads and Linton rock paintings, the highly acclaimed Wonders of Nature exhibition, and a great diversity of natural history.

Exhibits include superb collections of furniture, porcelain and silver. The period garden is a delight. 	The Bo-Kaap Museum, a 1760 house furnished in the style of a 19th Century Muslim home, reveals the influence and intermingling of Eastern and Western cultures brought by slaves, early political exiles and prisoners from the Dutch East Indies in the 17th Century. 	Early Cape medical history continues to live in the Cape Medical Museum, housed in the former residence of the superintendent of the defunct city hospital. It is an intriguing cultural heritage. 	The District Six Museum is a fascinating, constantly changing living memorial to the community of this once-vibrant coloured suburb which was forcibly removed during the apartheid era. 	The South African Air Force (SAAF) Museum at Ysterplaat Air Force Base is the second largest military aviation museum in South Africa. The Museum houses a varied collection of exhibits covering the full period of the SAAF's existence and it's operational activities as well military and civil aviation in the Cape. In addition to aircraft, weapons, engines & uniforms there is a small display of Royal Flying Corps memorabilia.
